Country Shaker
Newmarket kitchens in Cheshire
A country Shaker with generous proportions and proper character.
Newmarket is our most characterful country kitchen — a classic Shaker door with a deep frame, designed to be the heart of a busy family home. It is made for larders, pan drawers, island seating and a proper range cooker, and it wears the marks of everyday life with grace.

About the Newmarket kitchen
Warm Mid Grey and White are the natural choices, often with a Deep Charcoal island and an oak worktop. Bronze hardware and a butler sink finish the look. The Newmarket feels established the moment it is fitted, as though it has always been there.

Design & character
The Newmarket is unashamedly a country kitchen, with a deep Shaker frame and generous proportions that make it the natural heart of a family home. It is designed to be filled with the things that make a kitchen welcoming — a larder, a dresser, pan drawers, island seating and a proper range cooker — so it feels established and lived-in from the moment it is fitted. In a farmhouse or a large period home it looks utterly at home, and even in a newer house it brings a sense of warmth and permanence that more minimal kitchens cannot.
How the Newmarket is built
Built to the same hand-painted standard as our other classic ranges, the Newmarket uses timber-framed doors primed and lacquered over stable, moisture-resistant carcasses, with soft-close drawers and doors throughout. The deeper frame gives the doors a solid, substantial feel in keeping with the country look. We build the run to take a range cooker and a Belfast sink precisely, and add larder, pantry and dresser units to match, so the whole kitchen is planned around how a busy household actually cooks, stores and gathers rather than around standard cabinet sizes.
Colourways & finishes
Warm Mid Grey, White, Light Silver Grey and Deep Charcoal, hand-painted. Every door is finished to the same exacting standard, and we are happy to mix two colours — a darker run of base units beneath a lighter island is a particularly popular way to use the Newmarket.
Handles & hardware
Aged bronze cup pulls and knobs, or turned-timber knobs for a softer, more rustic finish. Latches available for larder doors.
Living with the Newmarket
A Newmarket kitchen is made for real family life. The larder keeps the worktops clear, the deep drawers swallow the clutter of everyday cooking, and the painted finish takes the knocks of children and pets in its stride and can be refreshed years later. With an island or a big table at its centre, it becomes the room where the household naturally collects — for breakfast on school mornings, baking at the weekend and long meals with friends. It is a warm, hard-working kitchen that rewards a generous space and gives it a genuine sense of home. With a range cooker beneath a timber mantel, a butler sink and a walk-in pantry, the Newmarket becomes the generous, sociable heart of a busy country home. Add a dresser and an island with seating and it becomes the room where the whole household naturally gathers, for breakfast on school mornings as much as for long weekend meals. It is a kitchen built to be used hard and loved long, ageing gracefully alongside the home it sits in.
Who it suits
Large family kitchens, country and farmhouse homes, and anyone who wants a warm, lived-in feel. As with all our kitchens, the Newmarket is made to measure for your room, so awkward corners, sloping ceilings and chimney breasts are designed around rather than worked against.
